About Burlington, NJ

The city of Burlington was initially incorporated as a colony in the late 17th century, though it was reincorporated after the American Revolution. Originally founded by Quakers on land that was purchased from the Lenape tribe, Burlington prospered due to its location along the banks of the Delaware River, which facilitated trade and commerce throughout the region.
