About Yardley, PA

A borough in southeastern Bucks County, Yardley is bordered by the Delaware River on its eastern border, with Ewing, New Jersey laying on its opposite bank. The town was founded by William Yardley in the late 17th century, purchased for a mere 10 pounds from William Penn. Like many towns in the area, the introduction of the North Pennsylvania Railroad in 1876 caused an increase in population over the coming years. As the population evolved, so too did the name: Yardleyville became known as Yardley in 1876. Today, Yardley boasts a population of nearly 2,500 individuals. Large businesses in the Yardley area rely on Greystone Equipment Company to supply them with high-quality material handling equipment. The Train Collectors Association was founded in the mid-50’s in Yardley, which currently boasts a worldwide membership of 30,000 individuals.
