About Quakertown, PA

A borough in northern Bucks County, Quakertown is located between Bethlehem and Philadelphia on the border of both the Delaware Valley and Lehigh Valley metropolitan areas. Due to its unique location, it is considered a part of both the Allentown-Bethlehem and Philadelphia-Camden-Wilmington urbanized areas. Named for the Quakers who originally settled in this area, the town has played an important role in Pennsylvania history as a stopover during the Revolutionary War, earning its motto as “The Heart of Bucks County!”. The town grew in both population and commerce after the introduction of the railroad, with a number of homes and factories popping up throughout the area. It is still a popular place for manufacturers due to its centralized location. According to the 2010 census, Quakertown is home to nearly 9,000 individuals.
