About Ambler PA

A small borough in southern Montgomery County, Ambler is the home of Greystone Equipment Co. Located just 16 miles north of Philadelphia, Ambler has historic roots dating back to the late 17th century, when the Harmer family emigrated to the area, which was once native territory of the Lenape. Harmer built a mill in the area, which is widely considered the first commercial venture in Ambler. A village grew up around the mill, which evolved over two hundred years to form a bustling region that was known for producing asbestos. A great deal of historic buildings still remain in the area, including a playhouse and a symphony hall. The median household income in the borough is $47,014, and the borough is home to 6,426 individuals as of the 2010 census.
