About Springfield PA (Zip Code: 19064)

A large township located near the center of Delaware County, Springfield had a population of over 24,000 individuals as of the 2010 census, though this number is expected to have grown in the past five years. It is only 10 miles west of Philadelphia, and is conveniently located nearby the Philadelphia International Airport to the south. The northeastern border of the township is formed by Darby Creed, while its western border is formed by Crum Creek. The area, which was initially settled by Quakers who came to this country with William Penn, Springfield was a small community until the 1960s, at which point the population rapidly expanded following many significant updates to the airport. This caused the town to become one of the busiest commercial areas outside of Philadelphia, and a stretch of the Baltimore Pike within the township was referred to as “The Golden Mile”.
